Communications Coordinator
CENTRAL CHURCH
Reports to: Jodi Janssen, Communications Director
Job Type: Part Time, 20 hours per week
Job Summary
The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for supporting internal (church staff) and external (church congregation) communication efforts. The ideal candidate must have a passion for detail-oriented work, thoughtful media placement, and great written communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit weekly sermon clip(s)
- Upload weekly sermon (video & audio)
- Develop weekend story content (assist with strategy and ideation & own posting)
- Manage social responding for all channels
- Design weekly sermon slides (weekend services & college)
- Write sermon excerpt
- Execute weekly email
- Write & proof weekly bulletin
- Manage content for pre- and post-service rotators
- Manage event calendar, specifically how events appear on centralsf.org
Qualifications
- Follower of Jesus
- Interest in the work of the many ministries of Central
- Proficiency using a variety of digital platforms, including but not limited to
- Church management software (PCO) or similar database
- Email marketing (MailChimp)
- Social media (Meta, YouTube)
- Photo/video editing software (Final Cut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop)
- Website CMS (Ekklesia)
Skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to work with ministry leaders in both sync & asynchronous formats
- Photography & video capturing experience
- Photography & video editing experience
Requirements
- Required to be on location at Central Church and participate in live events and shoots; most Sundays and some weeknight evenings included based on ministry event schedules.
- Willing to pursue membership at Central Church, including completing a membership class and believer’s baptism.
