Community Coordinator for Nursery Team

Job Type: Part-time 10-15 hours per week
Job Summary
Central Church is looking for someone passionate about helping kids and families grow in their faith. As part of the Kid Central team, you’ll play a key role in taking our children’s ministry to the next level.
This position will help develop a Nursery team that feels like a community by building strong relationships with leaders, coaches, and families while fostering a welcoming and organized nursery environment. This position is responsible for helping recruit, train, and support nursery leaders, ensuring each Sunday is fully staffed and runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule nursery Leaders
- Recruit, Onboard, and train adults and students to serve in the nursery.
- Shepherd and empower coaches to lead teams of volunteers.
- Intentionally build strong relationships with the nursery leaders and coaches.
- Ensure the nursery rooms have leaders each Sunday to meet our leader-to-child ratios.
- Work closely with the Community team to develop and appreciate Kid Central leaders.
- Send out Birthday cards each month to your Nursery Leaders and coaches.
- Collaborate with the Kid Central team to create a fantastic experience for kids and families.
- Present in the hallways on Sundays to build relationships with coaches, leaders, kids, and families.
- Help build strong relationships with parents and guardians, addressing their concerns and providing support as needed.
- Contribute to and participate in Kid Central events.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Oversee the Nursery rooms, order supplies, keep toys clean, and keep rooms organized.
Qualifications
- Personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with Central’s Statement of Faith.
- Member, or willing to become a member, of Central Church.
- Passion for reaching/growing children in Christ and equipping/encouraging parents and caregivers to do the same.
- Has a passion for empowering, shepherding, and caring for room leaders (volunteers) and Coaches.
Skills
- Highly relational, flexible, and able to work well with others.
- Highly organized with a strong eye for detail.
- Excellence in written/verbal communication skills.
- Proactive and willing to seek out solutions.
- Ability to manage and balance complex schedules and details.
- Ability to manage, direct, and oversee teams of volunteers.
- Computer skills and experience with Google and Apple systems, as well as the ability to learn our internal systems quickly.
- High level of problem-solving abilities among families and volunteers with the ability to pivot quickly according to the needs of a fast-paced ministry.
- Willingness to serve with a positive attitude. Has a cooperative, healthy, and motivating relationship with co-workers, volunteers, parents, and children.
- A high level of initiative and ability to work independently; ability to perform duties with minimal direction and supervision.
- Ability to complete a task within assigned deadlines.
- Ability to recruit, equip, and encourage volunteers.
