What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Assistant position at Central City Community Health Center?
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Monterrey Park
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting with various daily functions of the Human Resources Department. Which include assisting with employee on-boarding, employee relations, employee record keeping and administrative task to support the Human Resources department. All while applying HR best practices.
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director of Human Resources
JOB DUTIES: Responsible for providing assistance in any and HR duties as follows:
- Process new hire paperwork and verifications, such as I-9s.
- Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations.
- Coordinating on-boarding schedules and process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and assist with organizing company events.
- Help administer benefits programs and respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and policies.
- Assist with performance management processes and employee training programs.
- Prepare and maintain HR reports and documentation.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team.
- Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, phone calls, and correspondence, ensuring timely and professional responses.
- Stay updated on HR trends and best practices to contribute to process improvements.
- Assisting with special HR projects on various topics.
- Consistently demonstrate and uphold CCCHC’s principle of providing quality health and human services to the medically underserved and low-income populations in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Punctuality and Attendance: This is an essential job duty for CCCHC’s employees given the impact on patients.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Current CA Driver License.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2-year experience working in Human Resources required.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience with ADP Workforce required.
Working Conditions: Normal office environment with:
- Occasional walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping and kneeling.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while also being highly detail oriented.
- Ability to organize and schedule work effectively.
- Ability to articulate clearly in both oral and written communication.
- Ability to maintain composure under conditions of urgency and/or time constraint, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle and maintain patient, provider, and company information confidentiality.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office.
