The Revenue Cycle Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the revenue cycle team, ensuring efficient and effective billing, collections, and account management processes. The position focuses on optimizing revenue generation and improving workflows while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and organizational standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision and Team Leadership :
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of revenue cycle staff.Assign tasks, monitor workloads, and ensure timely completion of responsibilities.Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and professional development opportunities to enhance team performance.Facilitate training and ongoing education to staff on revenue cycle processes and compliance.Revenue Cycle Operations :
Oversee day-to-day revenue cycle activities, including claims processing, charge entry, coding, collections, payment posting, and account follow-ups.Monitor workflows to ensure efficiency and productivity.Implement process improvements strategies to optimize revenue cycle operations.Review and resolve escalated billing and collections issues.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as days in accounts receivable (AR), collection rates, and denial rates.Compliance and Process Improvement :
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations, including HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and payer-specific policies.Collaborate with others to streamline workflows and improve processes across the revenue cycle.Conduct audits to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate billing and coding practices.Stay updated on changes in healthcare billing and reimbursement policies and adapt processes accordingly.Reporting and Analysis :
Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.Prepare and present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders regularly.Develop and maintain documentation of revenue cycle policies and procedures.Collaboration :
Work closely with clinical, administrative, and financial departments to resolve billing or payment issues.Serve as a point of escalation for complex issues related to revenue cycle operations.Technology Management :
Collaborate with IT to optimize the use of revenue cycle management software.Ensure proper utilization of electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant systems.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or a related field required.Minimum 3 years of experience in revenue cycle operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding practices, payer requirements, and healthcare reimbursement systems.Proficiency in healthcare billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of medical terminology.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.Highly Desirable :
Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)Experience working in BH EHR systems.Knowledge of Medicaid / Medicare cost reporting.Intermediate level experience working in Microsoft ExcelAbout Central City Health :
