Summary of Essential Job Functions:
· Conduct work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
· Record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient in the patient’s chart.
· Greet patients upon arrival and assist in answering incoming phone calls.
· Ensure patients have updated all necessary paperwork prior to treatment.
· Assist with on-call and reactivation patient lists to ensure openings in the practice schedule are filled.
· Assist with collecting payments from patients at the time of treatment and scheduling future patient appointments.
· Ensure that patient records are accurate and complete, and that patient confidentiality is strictly maintained.
· Monitor and organize outgoing/incoming patient referrals and specialist updates.
· Dispatch lab work appropriately and check in lab cases as they arrive.
· Maintain an appropriate office environment through cooperation and teamwork.
· Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
· Assist with other duties as assigned.
Preferred skills, but not required:
· Current Basic life support (CPR) Certification.
· Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures specific to a dental office environment.
· Proof of course completion in the California Dental Practice Act (CDPA) and Infection Control for Dental Assistants (8-hour) within 12 months of employment.
· Coronal Polish certificate

· Ability to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocols.
