About Us:
Alpha Community Services Y is a leader in addressing housing instability, providing services such as Individual and Family Navigation, Emergency Shelter for families, Permanent Supportive Housing, and leading the Bridgeport Housing First Collaborative. We believe in nurturing potential and driving positive change in the community.
Position Overview:
The Executive Director will oversee the operations, programs, and strategic direction of Alpha Community Services Y. Reporting to the Senior Vice President/COO, this leader will manage fiscal operations, engage stakeholders, direct fundraising efforts, and drive community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction for all branch operations and programs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with volunteers, donors, and community partners.
- Oversee budget management and ensure financial goals are met.
- Lead the Annual Campaign fundraising efforts.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state grants.
- Build and support a high-performing staff team.
- Promote the Y’s mission within the community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of progressive leadership experience.
- Proven success in fundraising, including annual and capital campaigns.
- Experience managing budgets of $1 million or more.
- Strong background in board development and staff supervision.
- Experience with government grants and contracts.
- Knowledge of the Coordinated Access Network (CAN) preferred.
- YMCA Multi-Team Leader Certification (or willingness to obtain within 2 years).
