Essential Functions
Demonstrate and instill the values of the YMCA : Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
- Must be confident in spotting skills for Levels 6-10 including but not limited to : high bar giants, release moves, flight skills and salto dismounts on beam, twisting 1 / 1 - 2 / 1 on all apparatus, Yurchenkos and Tsukaharas over the vault table.
- Must be able to utilize training equipment such as salto harness, strap bar, tumble track, and foam pit
- Responsible to use teaching methods and follow skills and progressions of the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program.
- Coach gymnastic team members during practice sessions, home meets, and away meets.
- Collaborate with fellow coaches to design routines and skill development progressions.
- Provide constructive feedback to gymnasts to enhance their performance and technique.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment that encourages participation and teamwork.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, goals, and performance in meets.
- Uphold Safe Sport and USAG certifications to ensure a safe and secure training environment.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee regularly is required to stand; walk; run, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift at least 45 pounds; must be able to perform repetitive lifting, bending, kneeling and stooping during course of a 2-4 hour shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This job operates in a recreational and educational environment. This role routinely uses standard sports and recreation equipment. At times, employees may be exposed to undesirable working conditions, communicable infectious diseases, and risk of injury from others. All employees are required to follow the preventative health policies of the YMCA at all times. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
