This position supports the mission and work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization. Off-Season Camp Staff provides pre- and post-season support in various camp program areas while maintaining a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. Off-Season Camp Staff promotes and maintains safe conditions in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures assuring the well-being for each participant in line with YMCA guidelines and Association policies in accordance with their training.

Essential Functions
- Models the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility with members, colleagues, guests, volunteers, and vendors.
- Assist in coordination of facility maintenance and cleanliness in a timely manner ensuring the proper operation of systems and equipment.
- Positively and proactively communicates with and responds to supervisor, staff, campers, and parents as it pertains to this position.
- Maintains inventory of equipment and/or supplies. Assists with placement of orders in accordance with camp procedures.
- Maintains physical presence, remains alert at all times while on duty and remains aware of camp surroundings.
- Follows all procedures and guidelines including those pertaining to health and safety, forms, and staff expectations as required by the YMCA, licensing, and the state health department.
- Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, completes related reports as required.
- Knows, follows, and enforces all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures, and those for the prevention of child abuse and the rule of three.
- Assists with and attends all mandatory meetings and trainings.
- Desire and ability to work with and relate to children and one's peers outdoors
- Prior camp experience as a program or administrative staff member
- Ability to create, schedule, organize, and implement daily camp activities, special events, and staff training activities
- Good role model, high integrity, and adaptable
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
- Ability to communicate, supervise, and work with assigned ages and skill levels and provide necessary instructions
- Must be observant, safety-conscious, and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to assigned activities
- Current CPR/First, AED, and Oxygen Administration certifications preferred
