As part of our team, you will inspire a love for nature and conservation while teaching basic fishing techniques, water safety, and respect for the environment.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Waterfront Program Instructor, where you will be responsible for teaching campers the fundamentals of fishing, including casting, knot tying, and species identification. You will also supervise and lead fishing activities while ensuring safety guidelines are followed, maintain fishing equipment, and create lesson plans and activities that are fun, educational, and age-appropriate.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with knowledge of fishing techniques, safety, and conservation principles. Experience working with children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to foster a love of fishing and the outdoors in youth. Current certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED, and O2 administration are required, or willingness to obtain before the start of camp. Physical ability to participate in outdoor activities for extended periods is also necessary.
