Ropes Course Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and adventurous Ropes Course Specialist to join our seasonal day camp team. As a vital member of our camp staff, you will design and deliver safe, fun, and engaging high- and low-ropes activities that foster teamwork, personal growth, and self-confidence in youth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate ropes course activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- Conduct regular equipment checks, monitor participant safety, and adhere to established guidelines.
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of our campers.
- Nurture positive relationships with campers and promote a sense of teamwork and growth.
- Embody the Y's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment.
Requirements:
- Certification in ropes course facilitation or equivalent experience is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in ropes course instruction or facilitation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A positive attitude, adaptability, and a passion for working with youth.
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED, and O2 administration (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of camp).
- The ability to climb, balance, and work safely at heights.
- Comfortable working outdoors for up to 8 hours per day in a moderate to high noise environment.
- Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
