What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Enrollment Specialist - Bridgeport YMCA position at CENTRAL CONNECTICUT COAST YOUNG MENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION INC?
This position supports the mission and work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization. The Child Care Enrollment Specialist is a key component of the Child Care team and performs a variety of duties with the ultimate goal of enrolling new students and retaining existing ones. The Child Care Enrollment Specialist fosters a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. - Models and teaches the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility with members, colleagues, staff, guests, volunteers, and vendors.
- Develops, maintains, and facilitates positive relationships with and between volunteers, members, program participants, staff, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Maintains all records and files including, but not limited to, accurate attendance documentation, emergency information, health records, and accident/incident reports for each child; keeps any and all information pertaining to children and their families confidential.
- Manages data in SGA Pulse software, Office of Early Childhood (OEC) ECE Reporter, Care4Kids; collects all data for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and any programs set by School Readiness, OEC, National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the CCCY, or other program funders.
- Assists parents complete enrollment packets efficiently including, but not limited to, emergency contacts, CACFP documentation, and any other third-party subsidy paperwork.
- Provides accounting support for branch including collections for preschool, after-school, and summer camp; reconciles cash-outs and prepares deposits; processes financial aid, Care4Kids, DCF and all third-party invoicing.
- Ensures compliance with all licensing, accreditation, and funding requirements including School Readiness, OEC, NAEYC, CACFP, and Care4Kids.
- Performs general clerical duties to include answering phones, managing paperwork, office supply orders, and copying and filing.
- Communicates with staff, participants, and members in a timely and professional manner and answers questions that will support a positive experience with the Y.
- Maintains physical presence at all times while on duty, monitors and administers safety checks, remains aware of surroundings and participants ensuring a pleasant, professional, and safe Child Care environment.
- Knows, follows, and enforces all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures and those for the prevention of child abuse; and supports other staff to do the same
- Attends all mandatory meetings and trainings and pursues professional development opportunities that support the work of the YMCA.
- All other duties as assigned by Senior Child Care Director, District Operations Director, or Executive Director.
