GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs highly advanced and/or supervisory (senior-level) computer systems support work. Work involves coordinating customer support for agency information technology systems and operating automated office equipment in a stand-alone or network environment. May assign and/or supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates and oversees the setting up of equipment for employee use and performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
- Works with other support specialist in technical help desk support. Serves as team lead in reviewing problem tickets and coordinating technical help desk support.
- Advises users and analyzes user requirements concerning software and the efficient use of information technology systems in a courteous fashion well suited to the size of the issue.
- Designs and develops plans to maintain various system applications and ensure current versioning.
- Develops procedures and training manuals and conducts presentations and briefings.
- Establishes and ensures that appropriate security controls over software are maintained.
- Prepares briefings, reports, and evaluations on system efficiency and utilization.
- Reviews daily data communication transactions, problems, remedial actions taken, and installation activities.
- Reviews and provides advice regarding the procurement of information technology equipment.
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex computer-related problems.
- VoIP system backup manager of user configurations.
- Faxing system backup manager of user traffic and troubleshooting.
- Provides Tele-Health and Video Conferencing user support.
- May assign and/or supervise the work of others.
- Must stay compliant with all required training.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are required for the 8-5 work day or agreed upon hours 100% of the time, to ensure consistency and completeness of programs processes.
- Professional Development - Successfully complete training required to maintain skill competency and cross training to ensure consistency across program procedures. Complete continuing education as required by professional standards and the Center.
- Frequent daily driving within the catchment area is required.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Education
- Experience in computer systems support work.
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent, supplemented by courses in computer science, is generally preferred.
- Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
