The Lakewood-Trumbull Y’s Camp Tepee is looking for a Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team and make a lasting impact on campers and child care participants. This position focuses on supporting campers with behavioral needs, coaching staff, and creating inclusive experiences for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:

Work directly with campers who need additional behavioral support.

Assist children with social skills development and participation in camp activities.

Implement behavioral support plans and de-escalation techniques.

Train and coach staff on best practices for positive behavior management.

Collaborate with families and staff to create individualized strategies for success.

Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with state and local requirements.

Bachelor's degree in education, social work, special education, psychology, or a related field preferred.

1-3 years working with children in camp, school, or clinical settings.

Knowledge of PBIS, ABA, or trauma-informed care is a plus!

Must obtain CT Child Care CPR/First Aid certification upon hire. CPI or de-escalation training preferred.

Strong communication and teamwork skills to engage with campers, staff, and families.
