What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Staff - YMCA Camp Hi-Rock position at CENTRAL CT COAST YMCA, INC.?
The maintenance staff is expected to perform any reasonable task to keep camp buildings and grounds a safe and clean environment for staff and campers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Preparing buildings to the specified checklists.
- Cutting and splitting firewood.
- Painting.
- Grounds keeping and landscaping.
- Following established procedures for enforcing all safety regulations.
- Vehicle and small engine maintenance.
- Cleaning of camp areas.
- Demonstrate and teach the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to all campers and staff.
- Follow all camp rules and regulations and enforce them among peers.
- Maintain positive public relations with parents, visitors, and the general public at all times.
- Submit all required paperwork on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School senior or equivalent and at least 16 years old
- Desire and ability to work with maintenance in an outdoor environment
- Good role model, high integrity, and adaptable
- Reliable maintenance skills and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to repair buildings to a certain extent while using equipment safely
- Ability to clean and maintain an outdoor environment
- Ability to work on a team
