What are the responsibilities and job description for the LTS Behavioral Specialist - CD East High School position at Central Dauphin School District?
SUMMARY
To provide behavior support to students and information to staff to enable students to function better socially and academically in the school setting. Provide information and training to members of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams regarding developing socian and behavioral assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Special Education or similar areas. Experience working with students with social / emotional and other disabilities, providing consultation and training to staff in positive behavior supports, crisis management and conducting functional behavioral assessments.
Certification : Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : School based knowledge and experience preferred. Applicant will possesses an in-depth knowledge of special education regulations pertaining to positive behavior support plans and IEPs, school wide, group and individual positive behavior management techniques and strategies. Ability to conduct and lead staff through the Functional Behavior Assessment process. Demonstrates ability to be flexible and dependable in implementing job responsibilities and demonstrates superior skills in interpersonal relationships and team collaboration. Must be willing to complete Safe Crisis Management Instructor Training and in turn be an in-district Safe Crisis Management Trainer.
