What are the responsibilities and job description for the MLL Teacher (Multilingual Learner Teacher)-Long Term Substitute position at Central Elementary School?
Central Elementary School is seeking a MLL Teacher (Multilingual Learner Teacher) for a long term substitute position.
Instruction:
Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English that meets state and federal standards
Develop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies
Address all aspects of communication through appropriate instruction that develops each student’s ability to read, write, speak, and listen in the appropriate content area
Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility and incorporates challenging instructional strategies
Adapt curriculum to provide individual, small group, and/or remedial instruction as to meet the needs of individual students and subgroups of students
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior required to run an orderly and productive classroom environment
WIDA ASSESSMENTS/Certifications
Administer WIDA ACCESS for ELs assessment and WIDA Screener for ELs
Maintain required WIDA ACCESS Test Administrator/Screener certifications per state/federal regulations
Staff/Family Support
Support classroom teachers with SEI strategies as needed
Provide translation and interpreters as needed for district curriculum nights, parent teacher conferences, IEP and ELSP meetings, parent meetings with guidance and administration, report cards and progress reports, bus information, etc.
Foster a strong home-school connection
Assist families with enrollment documentation, Parent Square and School Brains access
Other
Maintain student records in compliance with state/federal regulations
Maintain accurate records of student growth and progress
Monitor Former ELs as required by state law and implement intervention for those not making adequate progress
Participate in team meetings, IEP meetings, etc. pertaining to English Learners’ achievement
