POSITION SUMMARY: 
Provide out-patient primary care dentistry, including both preventive and acute care, in accord with established standard of care dentistry.
 
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of dentistry.
License to practice Dentistry in Florida  
Insurability (malpractice)
Community service orientation.
Current valid BLSC certification.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:  
  1. Be familiar with CFHC’s program philosophies, goals, and objectives. Be cognizant of and comply with all CFHC’s policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  2. Complete all required paperwork on time. (Payroll sheets, encounter tickets, evaluations, progress notes, etc.)
  3. Understand the requirements of CFHC’s Exposure Control Plan. Assure compliance with this plan by support staff assigned to assist you. Personally utilize universal precautions when practicing in the clinical setting.
  4. Participate in staff outreach and off-site health care programs requiring Dentistry services as requested by the Dental Director or CEO. Represent CFHC in the community.
  5. Complete all duties, responsibilities, and competencies in a manner that is appropriate to the age groups to whom care / services are being provided.
  6. Provide necessary information and signatures for participation in reimbursement arrangements, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and other plans.
  7. Arrange referrals for patients requiring dental services that are not available at CFHC, such as oral surgery, orthodonture, etc.
  8. Accept referrals from other CFHC doctors or dentists.
  9. Construct, reproduce, and/or repair denture, bridge, appliance or other prosthetic designed for dental use.
  10. Review x-rays, document results, and follow up when indicated.
  11. Maintain neat patient records with timely dictation of SOAP notes and current Chronic Problem and Medication lists.
  12. Maintain up to date knowledge of coding and billing requirements. Provide accurate coding information on encounter tickets that corresponds to care given and documented in progress notes.
  13. Rotate to other CFHC centers as needed to provide coverage.
  14. Report as needed to the Dental Director any pertinent information or situations that impact on patient care or CFHC liability.
  15. Provide a leadership role for dental support staff. Assist with annual evaluations.
  16. Attend and participate in mandatory CFHC meetings (Center Specific quarterly meetings, corporate meetings, and other meetings as designated by the DD or CEO).
  17. Assist in the development of dental provider protocols and participate in Quality Assurance programs to minimize risk, in collaboration with the Dental director and Chief Clinical Officer.
  18. Participate in Peer Review activities as requested by CCO.
  19. Assist with the recruitment of other dentists and dental staff in collaboration with HR.
  20. Make recommendations to the Dental Director regarding the purchase of dental supplies, instruments, and equipment, and repair and/or maintenance of these.
  21. Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with other members of the clinical team. Be supportive of coworkers.
  22. Maintain neat and professional appearance at all times.
  23. Perform all surgical procedures using sterile techniques and CDC guidelines.
  24. Carry out any other activities deemed appropriate by the Dental Director, CCO or CEO.

NHSC – $75,000 for a 2-year commitment and then $20,000 for each additional year commitment until the loan has been paid in full

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   (Subject to Change)
  1.         Requires 80% or more time spent standing/walking. 
  2.         Independently mobile.
  3.         Ability to lift weight equivalents to that would be required when occasionally assisting and positioning patients, repositioning equipment and lifting supplies.
  4.         Ability to adapt and function in varying environments of workload, patient acuity, worksites and work shifts. 
  5.         Environmentally exposed to a variety of contagious diseases and other patient related conditions.
