Seeking a full-time Front Office Coordinator for a friendly & fast-paced cardiology practice in Orange City, FL.
Ideal candidate:
*Two years' experience in a medical facility or healthcare customer service position
*Proactive, organized, attention to detail, a self-starter as well as friendly and personable.
Position Summary: This position is the initial point of contact with patients, as well as the liaison between medical staff and physician. Serves patients by greeting and helping them; schedules patient appointments, collects patient insurance information and personal demographics, advise patients of the care center policies and inform patients of payment expectations and checks patients in and out for their appointments. Includes answering multiple phone lines, making phone calls daily, greeting patients, checking patients in and out as well as other tasks.
Essential Job Functions & Related Duties:
- Assists patients by determining needs, scheduling or canceling appointments, or referring to correct staff person.
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and testing departments utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
- Check patients in or out for appointment times.
- Obtain & Updates patient records, demographics, preferred pharmacy & lab.
- Collect proper patient payment at time-of-service
- Remind patients of upcoming appointments and other responsibilities
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a front office coordinator or appointment scheduler position required (or the equivalent)
- Knowledge of insurance and payers
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent communication skills oral and written; able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office
