Key Responsibilities
- This is a working manager position, and you will be required to assist the warehouse associates with the day-to-day functions of picking, shipping, receiving, and inventory control to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with the implementation and administration of policies and management of all warehouse activities for Central Pet Distribution and Hills Operations procedures in all areas of operation.
- Assist with hiring, training, development, evaluation, performance management, and progressive discipline of warehouse personnel.
- Active member of the Safety Committee, which includes scheduling monthly meetings, quarterly walk-through inspections of the facility, following up on any safety concerns, providing equipment operator training to employees, and ensuring the safety of all employees, guests, vendors, etc.
- Ensure time sheets for hourly personnel are accurate and complete prior to payroll processing.
- Utilize company operating systems, Prelude, Vocollect, Dayforce, Insight Via, TMS.
- Work with outside vendors on maintenance and other purchases to minimize operating cost.
- Ensure operations are in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Fill in for warehouse supervisors/managers as needed.
- 5-7 years previous leadership experience in a fast-paced, high volume, distribution/warehouse environment.
- Must have excellent computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and specific job-related software applications such as Warehouse and Transportation Management Systems, multiple ERP systems and various shipping software programs.
- Must have clear, concise, written and oral communication skills.
- Able to safely operate and become certified in the operation of all warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines. Previous forklift experience and certification, preferred.
- Able to meet physical requirements with or without accommodation including a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day; repeated twisting at the torso; regular lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Work is conducted in a warehouse environment with temperature changes depending on the season
- Working inside trailers while loading or unloading trucks
- This position pays $70,000-$75,000 per year depending on experience.
