Job Overview
The Communications Manager will work closely with the Director of Communications to support BioCrossroads’ strategic communications and marketing efforts, executing content strategies, digital marketing initiatives, and event communications that elevate BioCrossroads’ mission and visibility.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in marketing, public relations, communications, and project management, with a strong interest in life sciences, data, and emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. This position is responsible for supporting the implementation of communications tools including writing and editing, media relations and outreach, website content creation, and producing marketing materials. In addition, this position will support social media content and strategies, project management efforts, and collaborate on all aspects of event development and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare messaging for a variety of stakeholders, including press releases, presentations, blogs, and other materials.
Support planning, activation, and development of marketing materials for the annual BioCrossroads Life Sciences Summit and FrameWORX events.
Lead project management efforts and activities.
Assist with website and monthly newsletter content creation and distribution.
Support planning, activation, and development of marketing materials for the annual BioCrossroads Life Sciences Summit and FrameWORX events.
Monitor and maintain media tracking to assist with metrics and outreach goals.
Develop and manage content for BioCrossroads’ LinkedIn presence, including posts, campaigns, and engagement strategies.
Work closely with the Director of Operations to support various projects and manage external vendors.
Actively participate in regular collaborations with the CICP team organizational-wide.
Manage special communications-related projects that may arise.
Monitor trends in life sciences, technology, and AI to identify opportunities for thought leadership and storytelling.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
5 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field, preferably in a business, nonprofit, news, or industry-focused organization.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into engaging content.
Familiarity with LinkedIn, including organic and paid strategies.
Experience with event promotion and coordination.
Basic understanding of AI tools and their applications in marketing and communications.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and work collaboratively.
Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
