Job Title: Behavioral Health Security Responder
As a member of the RWJBH team, you will ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by providing vigilant and compassionate service.
The Behavioral Health Security Responder plays a critical role in upholding our commitment to safety, customer service, and supportive care. This includes balancing security protocols with understanding and respect for those in the healthcare setting.
To excel in this position, you should have a baccalaureate degree in psychology, criminal justice, or a related field, or at least 5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare or inpatient psychiatric setting. Previous law enforcement experience with de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques is also highly valued.
We are looking for individuals who possess excellent customer service skills, proficiency in keyboarding/data entry, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingual language skills are preferred but not required.
This part-time role requires adaptability, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment through patrols, monitoring facilities, and addressing potential security threats.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patrols and monitor facilities to maintain a secure environment for healthcare operations
- Provide professional customer service while vigilantly watching for and addressing potential security threats
- Manage access control systems, perform data entry, and utilize Microsoft Office for incident reporting and administrative tasks
- Perform weapon screening and enforce facility policies, ensuring adherence to safety standards
- Respond to emergencies, participating in crisis de-escalation using certified training techniques
