POSITION: Food Service Secretary- Grade 6
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Input data for meal benefits applications approval and verification process.
- Prepare related government reports including but not limited to Community Eligibility Provisions, Compensatory Aide, 742 document, FARMS data, and others.
- Maintain accurate records related to the meal benefit approval process.
- Provide technology support to Food Service school staff.
- Perform detailed and high-volume recordkeeping duties requiring experience and sound judgement.
- Processes payroll for Food Service employees.
- Prepare, distribute and maintain professional development materials.
- Gather, compile and prepare financial reports and statements assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Research account activity and financial statements to identify and correct errors and discrepancies.
- Perform secretarial duties such as preparing correspondence, memos, reports, and charts from copy or rough draft.
- Maintain calendar and schedule for immediate supervisor.
- Answer and screen telephone calls, takes messages, and open and distribute mail.
- Respond to routine inquiries and prepares standard responses to correspondence.
- Perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as maintaining office files, collecting and recording data, and distributing information.
- Maintain inventories, orders materials, and prepares purchase orders as requested.
- Prepare and distribute appropriate forms, correspondence, documents, and reports.
- Handle sensitive and personally identifiable information in a professional and confidential manner.
- Assist school(s), if needed, in the role of a Food Service Manager or Worker when he/she is absent.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Above average skills in Accounting or Business practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including creating a PowerPoint presentation from drafted notes.
- Above average computer skills and familiarity with computers and office software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard bookkeeping procedures and practices.
- Ability to properly handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to create spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of office equipment.
- Ability to relate well with students, staff, and the general public.
- Successful completion of all required test.
SALARY:
This is a 12-month position for 7 hours per day. Salary is based on Grade 6 of the Secretarial Salary Scale. (Range: $31,002 - $52,162). Salary will be determined by verified experience directly related to this position.
