Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue (CKFR) is seeking motivated individuals to join its Volunteer Program in Kitsap County. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on your community while gaining valuable skills and experience. Volunteers can serve in one of two roles: Support Services Volunteer or Special Projects Volunteer.
Support Services Volunteers assist the community by participating in emergency call responses, special event standby, and providing citizen support through requests for information, assistance, and education. These roles may include Rehab Operators, Tender Operators, and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in District-sponsored public events and activities.
- Ensure District apparatus and equipment are response-ready by performing checks and maintenance.
- Respond to emergency scenes as requested.
- Set up and operate rehabilitation stations, EMS services, or tender operations at emergency sites.
- Assess vital signs and monitor the physical condition of personnel.
- Provide rest, food, and fluids for rehydration.
- Administer medical care based on your training.
- Prepare and file accurate reports and records.
- Adhere to all District standards and procedures.
- Maintain required training and certifications.
Special Projects Volunteers serve by providing specialized skills or services to the community, such as serving as Chaplains or Car Seat Technicians.
