As an Accountant, you will be responsible for accurate and timely processing, reconciliation and reporting of transactions, as well as for prompt, friendly and courteous service to anyone who might come in contact with the dealership; including customers, potential customers and service providers that may contact us. This position will also be crossed trained with other areas of the accounting/Business office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Processes and reviews a variety of transactions timely & accurately.
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries & comparing to GL balances.
- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
- Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Maintains records according State and Federal law.
- Disperses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.
- Identifies process improvements, areas for cost savings and increased accuracy/productivity and makes recommendations to improve company operations whenever possible.
- Participates in cross training with other members of the accounting team.
- Maintains confidential information.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Experience & working knowledge with Microsoft products; specifically Microsoft Excel

- Ability to maintain Confidentiality & Trade secrets
- Ability to communicate, listen and speak effectively
- Ability to write clearly and effectively.
- Ability to recommend improvements in accounting controls, financial review trails, and business practices.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting theories, principles, methods, practices, and terminology
- Ability to apply accounting principles in locating and correcting accounting errors.
- Ability to apply accepted accounting principles to income statements and balance sheets.
- Ability to verify fiscal source documents and application of fees, refunds, collections, and discounts.
- Ability to review fiscal transactions for conformity with applicable laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to function effectively as a member of a team
