The Maintenance specialist plays an integral role in assisting with the oversight of capital building, grounds and repair projects for the entire Auto Group. As a Maintenance specialist, you will perform routine maintenance to all functions of the Auto Group’s facilities including areas of safety, grounds, custodial, operations, energy and other projects as assigned. You will also follow and promote the company’s vision and mission to be known as the most reputable dealership in the industry through respectful, honest, professional, and helpful interactions with employees and customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES
- Works with Maintenance Manager to prioritize daily/monthly duties.
- Performs scheduled/unscheduled maintenance and repair of capital improvement projects including general building repair, light construction, basic carpentry skills, plumbing, ventilation, painting, landscaping, and lot care.
- Recommends improvements of facilities, equipment or procedures to improve safety, quality and efficiency.
- Adheres to established schedules and procedures for the preventative maintenance program.
- Uses and maintains materials, tools and equipment used in building maintenance and grounds keeping.
- Performs basic electrical and/or plumbing work and determines when electrician or plumber is required.
- Responds to equipment mechanical breakdowns and troubleshoots when necessary; repairs/replaces worn/defective parts, motors, control devices, etc.
- Transports goods or equipment as required.
- Maintains cleanliness of workshop and utility room(s) to ensure rooms are kept clean, orderly, and safe from potential hazards.
- Keeps grounds free of debris, removes and properly disposes of rubbish and trash.
- Performs necessary seasonal grounds maintenance including but not limited to snow/ice removal, pruning of trees/shrubs, mowing of lawn, planting, etc.
- Assists Maintenance Manager with other duties as assigned.
- Works effectively with others by valuing and practicing teamwork at all times and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
This position performs work in outdoor, shop and office settings. Lifting and carrying heavy materials, furniture, equipment and tools; climbing, crawling, and stooping to reach work; manual strength and dexterity to operate tools and equipment, and pull, push or manipulate heavy objects against resistance, lifting up to 50 pounds; work outdoors in temperature extremes and inclement weather; work in exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes; vision to computer screens, written materials, blueprints and diagrams; speech and hearing for in person and telephone communications; sense of smell to detect abnormal conditions such as smoke and odors associated with malfunctions and leaks.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
