What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Manager position at Central Massachusetts Collaborative?
JOB GOAL: The Facilities Manager is responsible for the all-encompassing supervision, coordination and execution of the maintenance function of Collaborative buildings and grounds.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Facilities and Grounds Maintenance
Examines school buildings (3) and grounds on a regular basis for needed repairs, maintenance, safety and security.
Coordinates inspections for all playgrounds, kitchen equipment, elevator systems and life safety equipment and systems.
Oversees all building rooftop units, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems; perform general maintenance of same.
Develops and implements equipment and systems preventative maintenance programs and plans.
Responsible for managing and maintaining the Collaborative’s work request / order system.
Prepares specifications for work to be performed by outside vendors; secures product and/or services adhering to applicable procurement laws and process; coordinates and supervises the activities of outside vendors.
Engage with stakeholders and external partners to design and manage short and long-term projects.
Responsible for all procurement activities in support of maintenance and grounds operations, including services, parts and supplies.
Maintains compliance with all applicable state and federal procurements laws and regulations while ensuring the Collaborative is receiving competitive pricing on procured services and materials.
Develops and implements a painting and maintenance schedule to insure the protection, preservation and aesthetic nature of all Collaborative buildings.
Maintains an inventory of maintenance and grounds supplies and equipment so that needed replacements can be ordered in an efficient and timely manner.
Maintains a list of all maintenance and grounds contracts (i.e. trash removal) with expiration dates. Initiates renewal of contracts prior to expiration.
Coordinate snow removal services.
Manage and maintain the Collaborative’s fleet of vehicles, including gas, maintenance and inspections.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining regular communication with Director of Finance and Operations to ensure issues are highlighted on a timely basis and work priorities/plans are developed and reviewed.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or Director of Finance and Operations.
