Description
Under the direction of, and reporting to the Fill Plant Manager, Fill Plant Technician I is responsible in executing fill plant support services as instructed. This individual relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. They also support transfer truck driving, and back up driving for route sales.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fill Plant Support Services Including but not limited to:
- Cylinder handling (moving cylinders to and away from the fill racks & manifolds).
- Assisting in loading & unloading trucks &trailers.
- Paint & prep cylinders for filling.
- Cylinder filling procedures.
- Fill Plant Cylinder Scanning (ACM).
- Maintain cleanliness of the fill plant and lab areas.
Fills High Pressure Cylinder Gases
- Fills CO2 and cryogenic cylinders.
- Fill Dewars with liquid nitrogen from gas packs.
- Maintaining and fill cylinders to regulatory standards.
- Track and maintain cylinder data through advanced cylinder management software.
Maintain Proper Documentation and Logs on Fill Plant Cylinders
- Maintain daily logs including lot numbers for medical gases.
- Document and maintain lab equipment maintenance log.
- Maintain daily fill logs and gas inventory for all industrial gases.
- Document results of quality assurance.
Dry Ice Operations
- Assist in the production of dry ice products
- Fill, move and prepare dry ice totes for delivery
Safety
- Adheres to all Fill Plant and Central McGowan Safety Standards.
- Ensure proper PPE is adhered to in role in respective area.
Back up Route Driving – Unassigned Routes
- Deliver a full variety of cryogenic and gaseous cylinders to customers.
- Replenish empty customer tanks of all sizes.
- Customer tanks may be located indoors or outdoors.
- Follow approved procedures for safe handling and delivery of product.
- Operate motor vehicle to transport Hazardous Material and equipment safely. Drive carefully and obey all traffic laws
- Handle emergency situations as they arise professionally and in accordance with appropriate protocol.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- All other duties requested by management.
Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent, preferred.
- 1-2 years of industry experience, preferred.
- Experience working with high pressure cylinders, preferred.
- Class A License, with HazMat and Tanker Endorsement, required.
