Position Summary :
The Center for Excellence in STEM Education (CESE ) Assistant Director of STEM Education Programming (for students) is responsible for providing K-12 STEM outreach to students and families at the Center’s maker space (primarily) and on location at various community venues in the Great Lakes Bay Region (secondarily).
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in education or other related field.
Instructional experience with K-12 students.
STEM education background.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow directions.
Willingness to work some nights and weekends.
Must be collegial – approachable, team-oriented, positive and interested in building strong working relationships.
Must possess strong technology skills.
Ability to travel.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable acccommodation.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master’s degree in a STEM education field.
Three years of experience in a STEM -related field.
Teaching certification or commensurate classroom experience.
Community outreach experience.
Experience with grants – writing for, working with and reporting on.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Creates and facilitates K-12 STEM education programming (for ex : field trips, family events, and out of school events) including program registration and communication with participants, as well as preparation of materials and equipment in advance of the event.
Implements summer STEM programming; including all of the above parameters and supervision of all temp employees / camp instructors and student camp mentors.
Responsible for digital communication of Center events.
Other duties as assigned.

The Center for Excellence in STEM Education provides K-12 STEM education programming to 4th – 12th grade students, their families and teachers.
