About the Role
Central Michigan University is seeking a highly skilled Central Energy Plant Technician to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers, steam absorption and centrifugal chillers, air conditioning cooling towers, steam, diesel and gas turbine driven generators, air compressors, pumps, and related equipment.
This is a full-time, regular position with a salary of $31.61/hour and a 12-month schedule with rotating shifts.
The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, completion of a formal apprentice program, or equivalent training and experience.
A valid driver's license and ability to work from blueprints, diagrams, and sketches are also required.
The selected individual will maintain cleanliness of the Central Energy Facility, perform maintenance on boilers, chillers, generators, cooling towers, steam traps, and related pumps, and keep necessary operating records and logs.
The Central Energy Plant Technician will also be responsible for monitoring campus energy management systems, operating water treatment equipment, and taking water tests as prescribed by the supervisor.
