About Central Moloney (CMI) : At Central Moloney, Inc., we are committed to delivering high-quality transformers and services that meet or exceed customer expectations. To ensure we uphold our rigorous quality standards, our transformers undergo extensive electrical and visual inspections throughout the assembly process. Products that do not meet quality requirements are sent to our Repair Department, where issues are assessed and resolved. If a transformer cannot be repaired, it is disassembled, salvaged for reusable components, and returned to inventory, with the assembly line remanufacturing the unit.
About the Role: The Transformer Repair Supervisor oversees this entire process, ensuring repairs meet company standards, maintaining compliance, and optimizing efficiency. This role involves managing non-conforming products identified through internal inspections ("Yellow Tag"), post-production reviews ("Purple Tag"), and customer returns/warranty units ("Blue Tag").
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee repair operations, ensuring timely and high-quality transformer restoration.
- Organize, monitor, and prioritize repair tasks to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental guidelines, adhering to ISO procedures.
- Manage the processing of rejected units, including:
- Yellow Tag – Units rejected during production.
- Purple Tag – Units rejected post-production.
- Blue Tag – Customer returns/warranty units.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and quality checks to verify proper repairs before final release.
- Supervise and train employees on best practices for troubleshooting, repair techniques, and compliance.
- Collect and analyze oil samples from incoming trucks and internal tanks for testing and quality assurance.
- Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve recurring defects and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and report performance metrics, tracking productivity, defect trends, and repair success rates.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies, identifying areas for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
- Manage resource allocation, ensuring the availability of materials, tools, and personnel needed for repair operations.
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to employees, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production efficiency and quality control.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in transformer repair, maintenance, or a related manufacturing role.
- Prior leadership experience managing small teams in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong understanding of transformer components, electrical troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Ability to analyze trends, identify issues, and implement corrective actions for quality improvements.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a high sense of urgency to resolve repair challenges quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems for reporting and tracking repair processes.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy materials for extended periods in a manufacturing setting.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Manufacturing and repair facility setting, requiring prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to industrial equipment, electrical components, and varying temperature conditions.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when working with hazardous materials.
