The Cancer Treatment Specialist is an essential member of the radiation oncology treatment team at Central Montana Medical Center.
Duties for this position include:
- Accurately delivering prescribed radiation therapy under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist, utilizing complex techniques and equipment.
- Operating machines such as linear accelerators to deliver concentrated radiation therapy to the region of a patient's tumor.
- Performing radiation therapy procedures on all patients including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Maintaining daily records and documenting technical details of treatment administered.
- Understanding the use of all treatment accessories.
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of CT Simulation techniques in CT Simulation.
- Coordinating with the radiation oncologist and physics staff to ensure proper positioning and measurements for planning and calculations.
- Understanding the function and utilization of therapy treatment equipment.
- Familiarity with all equipment in their work area, including function, emergency shutdown procedures, warm-up procedures, and usage as it applies to the radiation therapy patient.
- Able to complete patient setup, calculations, and treatment on an emergency basis.
- During downtime, assisting in general radiology doing X-ray and CT.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy.
- State of Montana Licensure required.
- Registered ARRT.
- CPR Certification.
- Two years of experience preferred.
