The Speech Language Pathologist Role

This position plays a crucial part in our Rehab Services team, providing essential support to patients with speech, language, and communication challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.
  • Deliver targeted therapy sessions to enhance speech, language, and communication skills, addressing the root causes of these issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient progress through regular evaluations and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families on speech and language disorders, including available treatment options and techniques for effective management.
  • Effective communication is vital in this role, as it involves interacting with patients, family members, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Able to travel to patient homes and other facilities when necessary.
  • Prior experience in Home Health, Hospital, and/or skilled nursing settings is preferred.
  • A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology is required, along with current licensure in the State of Montana and certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • A valid driver's license with an excellent driving record is necessary, as well as CPR certification.
