What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Lines Pricing Actuary position at Central Mutual Insurance Company?
Location: Van Wert or Dublin, OH. Remote option if credentialed.

How You Will Make an Impact
Prepare rate level indications and communicate the results to Home Office and Regional personnel with minimal supervision
Prepare analyses of statistical experience and communicate the results to Home Office and Regional personnel with minimal supervision
Prepare actuarial portions of rate filings, including drafting responses to questions raised by the various insurance departments
Complete pricing and rate analysis as needed
Complete peer review as well as review of Sr. Analyst/Analyst work to ensure quality of work products
Train others on Actuarial tasks
Ownership of ad hoc as requested by the business
Ownership of any special projects as assigned
Independently write code to manipulate and query data
Assist with Rate Committee, including presenting actuarial pricing information, evaluating rate proposals, and advising on the impacts of actions being proposed
Monitor Actuarial Department communications for opportunities to collaborate and drive consistency in actuarial work products
Lead the continuous improvement of Actuarial processes and procedures based on industry trends and best practices in collaboration with the Research and Development Actuarial team
Support the preparation of communication with Central leadership, as well as external stakeholders and vendors
What You’ll Bring
ACAS/FCAS Designation
Master’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial science, Statistics, Analytics and 2 years of experience in an actuarial position or insurance pricing
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial science, Statistics, Analytics and 4 years of experience in an actuarial position or insurance pricing
Or 6 years of experience in in an actuarial position or insurance pricing
Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong math skills
Possesses multi-tasking and prioritization skills
Ability to understand Central Insurance’s policies and processes
Possesses excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred
Strong skills with programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, SAS and VBA
