JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary focus of this position will be to assist the PGA REACH CNY Executive Director in executing PGA REACH CNY programs within the Youth, Military and Inclusion pillars. PGA REACH CNY program examples include:
● MILITARY Pillar | PGA HOPE Program – PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH and is designed to introduce golf to veterans with disabilities in order to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.
● YOUTH Pillar | PGA Jr League – PGA Jr League (PGAJL) is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 13 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends. The kids learn the game among their peers with professional instruction and direction from PGA/LPGA Professionals who serve as team captains. Parents also play an active role, making the program a family activity and creating another generation of players to enjoy the game.
● INCLUSION Pillar | PGA WORKS –– PGA WORKS is a workforce diversification strategic initiative designed to evolve the demographic composition of the golf industry workforce and develop a robust pool of talent from historically underrepresented backgrounds who are prepared to ascend to key employment positions in the business of golf.

● While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
● The employee must be able to drive the company vehicle/van and/or drive to and from various locations throughout the Section.

ANTICIPATED START DATE: May 1, 2025. This is currently a 6 month fellowship.

Experience Required
● Undergraduate Degree
● Valid Driver’s License Required
● Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are required
● Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word & Excel
● Skills in social media marketing and communications
● Well organized, punctual, and energetic
● Ability to work in a team environment and travel
● Ability to work overtime to include weekends
● Ability to be flexible

Essential Responsibilities
● Assist the PGA REACH CNY Executive Director in handling the day-to-day programmatic and administrative activities of PGA REACH CNY.
● Support short term fundraising activities led by the Director of Development.
● Design and implement an outreach program to identify and grow the number of diverse youth introduced to the game of golf at an early age (leveraging what we have learned from our past collaboration with First Tee of Syracuse and our experience running the CNY PGA Junior League, the CNY PGA Junior Tour, and other CNY PGA programs).
● Design and implement a program to better engage the most enthusiastic participants from the aforementioned programs who have diverse backgrounds and educate them about the full range of CNY PGA Programs, high school and college golf teams, and the myriad of career opportunities within the game of golf.
● Design and implement a program for the most promising of the engaged participants from diverse backgrounds to teach/coach, support (including removing economic or logistical barriers) and mentor/guide them as they consider playing golf at the high school and college levels and/or explore the PGM Program, PGA Professional careers, or other forward-facing roles in the golf industry.
● Ensure review and compliance with PGA REACH branding guidelines.
● Ensure compliance with PGA REACH grant guidelines and timely reporting to PGA HQ on program progress to PGA REACH Board of Directors, staff and key volunteers (example: PGA Ambassadors).
● Play an active role in research, planning, stewardship, cultivation/engagement, and administration of PGA REACH Pillar constituency groups (e.g.PGA HOPE graduates, parents/families of PGA JR. LEAGUE and PGA Junior Tour, and DCP contest participants.)
● Insure timely and accurate gift acknowledgement letters are mailed within 48 hours of gift receipt with virtual (i.e. email, not paper) copies to relevant volunteers/staff members so they are up-to-date on all gifts received and gift acknowledgment letters sent.
● Manage PGA HOPE Online Campaign and more comprehensively thank steward, cultivate and engage donors to this campaign – in a very personalized and timely fashion.
● Assist with the setup, execution, and management of JLG Center-City Program, PGA Drive Chip & Putt Qualifiers and other events when applicable.
● Assist other team members with PGA REACH CNY marketing, communications and PR including: website updates, social media, creative marketing, and email communications.
● Handle all PGA HOPE enrollment processes with PGA of America trained HOPE instructors.
● Assist PGA REACH CNY and PGA WORKS (national) in the awareness of the PGA WORKS Fellowship to help attract new candidates for the PGA REACH CNY Fellowship.

● $16.50p/hr ($660p/wk) Plus additional overtime (time and a half @ $24.75) for any hours worked over 40 per week
