Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, has immediate career opportunities for Licensed Psychologists and Doctorate - Level Unlicensed Psychologists at their secure forensic inpatient hospital located in Marcy, NY.
CNYPC's secure forensic inpatient hospital serves individuals involved in the criminal justice system from jails and prisons across NYS including those in need of acute psychiatric care and deemed incompetent to stand trial.
Psychologists at CNYPC have a unique opportunity to conduct a variety of psychological and forensic assessments and provide intervention services, including
- Conducting diagnostic, cognitive, and violence / suicide risk assessments
- Evaluating adjudicative competence
- Providing expert court testimony
- Providing individual and group therapy
- Developing and implementing positive behavior support and treatment plans
- Participating in research projects Training and supervising psychology interns enrolled in CNYPC's APA-accredited Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology

CNYPC is the only statewide correctional / mental health system to be fully accredited by the Joint Commission. CNYPC provides a full range of care and treatment to individuals incarcerated in the state and county correctional systems at their secure forensic inpatient hospital and at a network of corrections-based mental health units for incarcerated individuals in the custody of the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS).
