What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administration Building Receptionist position at Central Office?
Primary Purpose:
Work under minimum supervision , respond to inquiries from staff, parents, and the public; provide requested information and /or referral to the appropriate parties; direct visitors; and provide general clerical support for the efficient operation of the central administration office. Handle confidential information and engage in frequent contact with all levels of district employees, outside agencies, and the general public.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED

Ability to operate multi-line phone system
Knowledge of school district organization, operations, and administrative policies

Excellent public relations, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing

Prefer someone with the ability to speak, read and write Spanish and English fluently
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Reception and Phones
- Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages and route to appropriate staff.
- Greet visitors (e.g. public, parents, saff vendors, ect.) respond to their inquiries and/or direct them to appropriate personnel in accordance with district policies and procedures regarding building security.
- Manage office calendar
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail, packages and other documents
Accounting
- Perform routine bookkeeping tasks and maintain superintendent activity account. Prepare and process purchases and payment authorizations for account.
Elections
- Serve as school district election clerk. Attend training and meetings as appropriate for this position.
Other
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
