SUMMARY: Reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Provides administrative support to the Department Administrator by performing the duties listed below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for executive-level administrative duties.
- Perform operational duties such as maintaining schedules/calendars, retrieving phone calls, emails, and voicemail messages; greeting and accommodating visitors; making travel arrangements.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
- Maintain a professional image.
- Process purchase orders and vouchers for payment.
- Perform administrative assistant duties in accordance with executive secretarial standard practices.
- Perform all administrative assistant and related duties in a conscientious, safe and confidential manner.
- Performs extensive software skills and duties, including word processing (Microsoft Suite), creating spreadsheets (Excel), and presentations (PowerPoint), as well as Google Suite programs (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
- Maintains filing, both electronic and standard.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Graduation from a general or technical high school.
- Two or more years experience as an administrative/secretarial lead person.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other related software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
- Exerts 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
- Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, and identify and distinguish objects.
- Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone, and hear sounds clearly up to 20 feet. Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone, and in addressing groups.

Salary: Clerical Salary Range on the Administrative Assistant Salary Scale - $23.44 - $31.50/hour
