POSITION DESCRIPTION
Assessment/Accountability Coordinator
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources & Accountability
Purpose: Performs various professional, technical, and administrative tasks to help direct the administration of local, state, and national standardized testing of students in the school system. Working with the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Accountability, this position helps ensure an aligned and articulated instructional assessment, accountability, and data analysis program for the district.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Works with Assistant Superintendent of HR & Accountability to coordinate district testing and accountability program
- Coordinates the logistics of all test security and administration training (e.g., establishing the training site, preparing materials for training, communicating with participants as needed, etc.).
- Provides appropriate training regarding test administration requirements
- Works with the Assistant Superintendent of HR & Accountability to ensure program compliance with all state accountability policies
- Manages all facets of testing to include storage, security, inventory, ordering, scheduling, delivery and pickup, scanning, scoring, test disposal, paper/pencil modification, testing modifications, printing of scoring reports, and distribution of scoring reports to appropriate individuals
- Collaborates with other administrators to publish the district testing calendar and other testing documents
- Facilitates data exchange and communication with DPI Department of Accountability Services
- Assists school-level testing coordinators with before, during and after state assessment processes and procedures
- Assists Assistant Superintendent of HR & Accountability with data analysis, interpretation, and reporting
- Attends all required state and regional meetings
- Operates state-developed software to support the testing program
- Manages purchase orders and processing of test booklets, student labels, and scoring reporting services for the testing office
- Receives and responds to telephone calls and emails from vendors, school test coordinators, NC Department of Public Instruction, etc.
- Assists with the development of the local assessment calendar to ensure deadlines are met
- Assists in the preparation of reports and other presentation materials for the Assistant Superintendent of HR & Accountability and/or the Superintendent
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent of HR & Accountability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of data and information collection systems, including computerized systems.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in implementing programs
- Ability to meet timelines and local procedures for assessment policies and procedures
- Good interpersonal skills
Training and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in education (classroom, administration or central office) and/or with educational testing and accountability programs
Term of Employment: 12 Months
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Grade: NC10 ($3,288 - $5,754 per month based on training and experience)
