What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning position at Central Office?
The Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning provides vision and leadership for innovation and improvement in instruction across all schools in the district. This role includes designing, implementing, and supporting instructional practices and programs for teachers and administrators to become effective educators. The Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning supervises and evaluates district-level instructional staff, professional development, school improvement, Response to Intervention, dyslexia, curriculum, and new teacher mentoring. Experience in designing and providing professional development, supervising teachers and staff, extensive knowledge and experience in instructional methodology, creating and managing state and federal budgets, understanding of the school improvement process, and the leadership skills necessary to influence systematic change is required. Qualifications include a Specialist degree or higher, Arkansas District-Level Superintendent certification, and a minimum of 10 years in administrative/leadership roles.
