What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Superintendent position at Central Office?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Superintendent works under the direction of the superintendent in coordination
with building principals. The position entails coordinating federal programs and includes
submission and oversight of federal budgets, supporting schools in the implementation of
federal programs, and compliance with relevant rules and regulations. (McKinney-Vento Act,
ESAF and district/building ACSIP AR APP.) Additionally, this position will oversee state and
federal audits and pertinent data submission and reporting. Child Nutrition Director- all aspect of
Child Nutrition.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To oversee and be responsible for the districts; Federal Programs Child Nutrition Director,
Personnel reports, Accreditation, Plant Management, Compliance, Policies, Title lX,
To supervise and be responsible for the formulation of the district's ASCIP, (AR APP), plan
To be responsible for working with district testing coordinator on Data Analysis
To be responsible for overseeing and coordinating Supplemental Programs (SES) for the district
To oversee the school report card and other reporting responsibilities of the district
To oversee McKinney-Vento Funding
To coordinate and oversee Compliance Monitoring of the district
To seek and write possible district grant opportunities
To develop/maintain Family-Community Plan, Wellness Plan, etc.
To oversee CTE compliance
To oversee Standards of Accreditation
To oversee district website requirements
To oversee any granted waivers or waivers being applied for by the district
To assist with the implementation of new laws, policies, and procedures
To assist building principals as directed by superintendent
To assist with AE, 504, and special education
To perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee's supervisor, or
the superintendent.

Education
Minimum of Masters Degree with an accredited educational institution. Other requirements per
job description.
Experience
(3) yea(s) teaching i administrative experience with proven knowledge of Federal and State
program guidelines and grant-writing ability preferred. Other requirements per job description.
Certificates & Licenses
Valid Arkansas certificate or license to comply with the necessary requirements to meet the
position's essential duties and responsibilities.
Computer Skills
Ability to apply basic computer programs (spreadsheet, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
others) to enhance job performance. (Others could include e-School, e-Finance, HACffAC)
Other Requirements
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school
community.
Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
