Business Manager
Qualifications
1. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
2. Valid School Business Administrator License (420 endorsement) or be eligible to obtain a provisional license.
3. Minimum of two - three years experience in school finance is preferred
Supervisors
- Reports to Superintendent of Education
- Other individuals as designated by superintendent
Job Summary
- Serves as chief financial officer for the school district
- Helps to coordinate district, school and program financial operations and goals
- Administers the finances of the district with sound fiscal management
- Ensures that fiscal practices support implementation of the district strategic plan
- Assists with the development of the budget and the achievement of maximum results for available resources
- Understands and utilizes appropriate financial technology, programs and resources
- Assumes responsibility for the accurate receipt and expenditure of all district and school funds
- Adheres to district, MDE and State of Mississippi school business financial requirements to include, but not be limited to, reconciliation of bank statements, auditing, receipting and disbursement of funds, funds investment, fixed assets accounting, fund balances, 16th Section land oversight, etc.
- Performs any other tasks as required by the superintendent (or designee)
