Primary Purpose: |

Assist in facilitating the efficient operation of the business office for the district and provide support services to the Chief Financial Officer and other administrative staff as assigned. Handle confidential information and frequent contact with all levels of district employees and outside agencies. |

Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification): |
|||
· High School Diploma; Associates Degree preferred · Knowledge of accounting principles and practices; · Knowledge of public school district financial policies and procedures preferred; · Ability to coordinate and implement accounting control procedures, policies and guidelines; · Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing; proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numeric data entry, and file maintenance. · Ability to communicate effectively. · Three to five years of accounting-related experience at the clerical level. · Public school district accounting experience preferred |

Major Responsibilities: |
|||
? Record details of financial transactions in appropriate journals and subsidiary ledgers as assigned ? Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating and posting transactions ? Prepare finance checks for payment of vendors ? Prepare and distribute end of period reports as assigned ? Prepare 1099 forms and submit to IRS ? Accurate and timely reconciliation of all bank accounts ? Prepare and file timely and accurate sales tax reports ? Perform general ledger reconciliations of assigned accounts ? Prepare and process cash transactions between banking and investment institutions to meet the cash needs of the district as well as process electronic funds transfers for accounts payable and payroll payments ? Maintain current banking and investment account information to meet the needs of the district ? Assist with establishing and maintaining effective internal control over cash management for compliance with the requirements of district policies and state and federal regulations ? Maintain computerized and physical files and records ? Maintain confidentiality of information in business related activities ? Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible ? Demonstrate cooperation by working effectively with others including supervisors and peers ? Demonstrate dependability by being punctual and present at work, unless for good cause ? Exhibit reliability by completing work as assigned and meeting project time lines ? Exhibit poise and self-control in decision making and problem solving relating to job assignment ? Demonstrate initiative by recognizing needs of the job and suggests ways to improve efficiency and productivity ? Comply with policies and procedures pertaining to job assignment ?
