Position Purpose
The Head Baseball Coach promotes an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship within the Cotopaxi Baseball program. The Head Baseball Coach provides leadership and supervision while working closely with other staff, administration and community.
Responsible to: Activities Director, and Principal
Essential Job Functions & Qualifications:
- Coordination and supervision of a training and game day program
- Supports the value of education and the philosophy and vision of Cotopaxi Fremont RE-3
- Communicates effectively in both written and verbal avenues to all stakeholders; maintain strong public relations
- Works effectively with all members of the school district and community
- Promotes an appreciation for physical fitness, health habits, teamwork and sportsmanship
- Ensure that all activities conform to CHSSA guidelines
- Adhere to all district health and safety policies
- React to change productively and acts as a positive change agent
- Must have or ability to obtain Coaching authorization
- Complete and approval received from an established background check process
- Have a valid driver's license, and qualify under the district's insurance carrier when driving school vehicles or personal vehicles connected to job responsibilities.
- Meet and maintain all physical and mental requirements of the position including prolonged standing, physical exertion, mentorship to student-athletes, etc.
- Must be able to travel associated with the position
- Must work within both indoors and outdoors conditions
- Assume duties of the head coach, if required
- Other duties as assigned by the head coach, AD, principal or administration

- The work requires the ability to speak normally, to use normal or aided vision and hearing, and to detect odors. identify colors, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment.
- Conditions include working inside and outside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, working closely with others, working alone, and traveling by car, van, bus.
