POSITION DESCRIPTION
Instructional Technology Facilitator
Reports to: Chief Academic Officer
Purpose: Facilitate the effective use of technology in instructional programs district wide. Assist in the development of the district Digital Learning Plan for the integration of technology into the instructional program. Implement and coordinate the technology staff development and training program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coaching, and technical expertise to district personnel in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of effective instructional technology throughout the district.
- Work with the Office of Curriculum and Instruction to evaluate district and school needs and then develop and provide staff development to teachers and administrators in methods of integrating technology in the delivery of curriculum.
- Coordinate the writing of curriculum for technology programs and monitor the instructional process in all content areas using technology.
- Assist in the selection of technology equipment and software.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures regarding technology issues.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of instructional technology.
- Collaborate with other technology team members to create a team of support for administrators, teachers, and students.
- Collaborate with the district Webmaster to update and manage the district website.
- Collaborate with Coordinator of Data Management to navigate district SIS and technology rostering.
- Identify, write, and manage technology grants including but not limited to: monies for equipment, development of STEM robotics opportunities for students, and additional training and support for all.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Chief Academic Officer.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
- Knowledge of technologies available for use in instructional setting
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
- Knowledge of evidence based instructional best practices
- Knowledge of current events and topics within instructional technology that may impact teaching and learning (i.e. Artificial Intelligence, STEM opportunities, etc)
- Ability to develop and deliver technology training to adult learners
- Ability to conduct instructional coaching cycles with teachers or teams focused on the intentional use of instructional technology to improve student outcomes
- Ability to write grants
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Training and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education
- NC Teacher Licensure with an endorsement in Computer Education preferred
- 3-5 years of experience as a teacher with program coordination and supervisory experience preferred
- Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Salary Grade: NC09 ($3,131 - $5,480 per month based on training and
experience)
