TITLE: Senior Bookkeeper ~ Business Office
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a high school diploma with not less than two (2) years’ experience as a Bookkeeper
Computer background with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Google, and MUNIS (preferred)
Prior knowledge and experience working in a municipality is desirable.
Excellent organizational and record keeping skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Must be detail-oriented
Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Verify and prepare invoices for payment processing
Process/print checks
Collaborates with City Hall and other school department employees as needed
Contacts vendors regarding invoices
Prepare, type, distribute warrants for funding
Prepare required state reports to meet established deadlines using platform specified by Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Prepares documents for the annual financial audit (as needed)
Prepares and posts deposits for various funds
Assists with Grants
Approves purchase requisitions when needed
Inputs purchase orders when needed
Any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Finance & Operations
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Finance & Operations
SALARY & TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As per collective bargaining agreement, 12 month position, 8 hours per day
