What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Supervisor position at Central Ohio Warehouse?
As an Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations within Central Ohio Industrial Park. The Operations Supervisor provides coaching, teaching, training, and leadership to the warehouse and inventory staff while maintaining excellent levels of customer service. This position will work closely with the Operations Leadership Team to maintain and oversee activities within the park. This includes operations of a bulk pick warehouse operating with several different customers and overseeing general maintenance activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages and oversees inventory and quality throughout the warehouse operation.
- Directs, leads, and motivates the team to deliver results.
- Plans work schedules and assigns duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
- Assists with design and implementation of new operational procedures.
- Identifies and implements continuous improvement methods to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitors and enforces safe work practices.
- Drives site performance, while exceeding customer satisfaction.
- Ensures the property is clean and orderly.
- Reviews work processes; recommends measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, and quality of service; and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
- Responsible for safety procedures and ensuring employees receive effective and timely training in safe work practices within the regulations of all OSHA local and state requirements.
- Collaborates with all employees throughout the organization to address customer concerns.
- Checks work throughout the process and at completion to ensure it’s been performed properly.
- Resolves personnel problems, complaints, and formal grievances, when possible.
- Counsels’ employees in work-related activities, personal growth, rewards and recognition, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensures the personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform required functions.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferred.
- Experience motivating, developing, and directing people.
- Material handling and forklift experience, required.
- Ability to drive a positive culture and strong orientation towards teamwork.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm to overcome challenges as required.
- Knowledge of warehouse, transportation, and logistics best practices and basic safety practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple people, handle confidential information, consider relative costs and benefits of potential actions, and choose the most appropriate one.
- Ability to create a culture of accountability while also creating drive and building bench strength.
- Ability to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures and exposure to dust and/or forklift fumes.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Applications.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
