What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Liaison position at Central Oregon Radiology Assoc., P.C.?
This position requires regular, reliable attendance. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, as the consequences of even a minor mistake can be significant for patients and providers.
1. Ensures incoming and scheduled orders are appropriate for given exam indications, scheduled at appropriate locations and with an appropriate amount of time.
2. Scheduling liaison to answer referring physician order questions as well as gather necessary information on patient implants.
3. Operates as a medical chaperone to ensure patient and provider comfort, safety, privacy and security during exams.
4. Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written, and active listening skills.
5. May be asked to transport/escort patients to dressing/exam rooms and to diagnostic procedures using wheelchairs, carts, beds, stretchers, and other ancillary equipment.
6. May be asked to assist patients with personal care duties such as gowning, escorting to the restrooms, and assisting with patient needs during a procedure.
7. Ability to prioritize assignments and work in fast-paced environment.
8. Ability to work independently.
9. Monitors, receives, and stores incoming supplies and alerts appropriate staff when supplies are needed.
10. Processes records of radiologic procedures performed and enters data in computer.
11. Ability to work cohesively with others.
12. Must be able to enter an MRI scanning room.
13. Performs other duties as necessary and assigned to keep the department running smoothly.
- Must be able to remain in a standing position for up to 95% of a workday.
- Sit to stand desks are available to all employees if the workstation has space to accommodate without obstruction to patients.
- Frequently assists in patient mobility. May often transport patients in wheelchairs, on a gurney, using a Hoyer Lift or Gimme-A-Lift device. Often transports diagnostic devices and patient care supplies of varying weights and occasionally moves paper/boxes of varying weights, up to 50 pounds.
- Constantly moves about the inside of the office/exam rooms for patient care and to access supplies and various diagnostic/office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates diagnostic machines and/or other office productivity machinery, such as a computer, iPad, copy machine, printer, etc.
- Frequently communicate with physicians, patients and coworkers who have questions about exams, preparations, or other patient care needs.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Must be able to visually see patient to position or assist and identify changes in patient’s wellbeing.
- Must have the ability to read orders or other communications on the patient’s and clinic’s behalf.
- Normally works indoors.
- Occasionally will take patients outdoors in the event we are using mobile scanners or transporting items to laboratories.
