We are expanding our team to serve the needs of our community in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri area! Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce a Pharmacy Technician position for our Camdenton clinic.

Responsibilities: The Pharmacy Technician assist the Pharmacist in rendering professional quality care to patients by assisting with daily tasks including filing and labeling prescriptions, notifying patients when prescriptions are ready, answering questions, and processing payments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepares prescriptions for medications including selecting the appropriate drug, brand, form, strength, and quantity. Mixes, measures, and labels medication dosages appropriately.
- Greets patients in person or by phone, answers questions and requests, and refers more in-depth medical inquiries to the pharmacist as necessary.
- Supports pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications.
- Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking stock, anticipating need, and placing orders.
- Maintains patient records in the electronic health software when filling prescriptions. Verifies patient information and updates as necessary.
- Notifies patients when prescriptions are ready for pick-up.
- Delivers medications at the counter and processes patient payments.
- Collects, verifies, and processes patient insurance and other information as necessary.
- Assists with ensuring medications are properly stored, performs regular checks to see that storage conditions are maintained.
- Assists with inventory audits as required.
- Assists with training new Pharmacy staff members.
- Protects patient information by adhering to HIPAA protocols.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Requirements: Must be comfortable using computer hardware and software as well as computerized equipment. Must be motivated to serve the needs of patients and perform services to benefit people and Central Ozarks Medical Center. Must possess a sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted medical standards. Must possess reading and verbal skills necessary to understand and communicate, regarding medical records and laboratory procedures. Must be CPR/BLS certified or become certified during probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with COMC.
Education and/or experience: GED or High School diploma. Associate’s degree preferred. Pharmacy Technician certification preferred. Previous clinic experience preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate general health guidelines, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from patients and regulatory agencies.
Mathematical Skills: Knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft office.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 50 pounds of weight.
Travel Requirement: To fulfill the responsibility of the position travel to all COMC locations may be required. Employee should have valid Missouri driver’s license.
