What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endoscopy Technician position at Central Peninsula General Hospital?
POSITION SUMMARY: The Endoscopy Technician prepares the room and equipment before an endoscopic procedure, assists the nurses and physician during the procedure and responsible for the cleanup and sterilization afterwards of the room and equipment. Handles specimen collection, performs safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning, and provides troubleshooting during procedure. Performs job competencies under the SPD technician job description.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/General Education Degree(GED)
- Attends educational training programs as assigned during the initial employment process.
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.
- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) from the IAHCSMM within 2 years of employment.
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the IAHCSMM within18 months of employment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
PREFERRED:
- 1 year of Endoscopy Technician experience. OR
- 1 year of sterile processing experience.
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
- Basic knowledge of asepsis and universal precautions.
- Experience with robotics.
CPH offers competitive pay and benefits including health insurance, retirement, paid time off and many more! Starting pay is $22.26/hr - $25.44/hr depending on experience. Additional compensation is also available for qualifying night and weekend shifts.
