Position Summary:
Central Peninsula Hospital (CPH) is seeking an experienced Environmental Services (EVS) Director to lead our Environmental Services and Laundry departments. This position is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
The EVS Director provides strategic direction, oversees daily operations, manages budgets, and leads a team dedicated to excellence in hospital cleanliness and infection prevention. This role plays a critical part in optimizing operational efficiency and enhancing the patient experience through high-quality environmental services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight of the Environmental Services and Laundry departments.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs to ensure hospital cleanliness and regulatory compliance.
- Manage department budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency.
- Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of EVS staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to support infection prevention initiatives and environmental safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, and other regulatory guidelines.
- Evaluate and implement best practices in environmental services to improve patient and staff satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in Environmental Services within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of hospital infection prevention protocols and regulatory standards.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive operational improvements.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
